About Us

Two models wearing the brand's swimsuits

We are so happy that you care about protecting nature the way we do.  So, let's tell you a bit about how your purchase from Boho Sun will help...

Our garments are all made from a fabric called ECONYL.

ECONYL uses synthetic waste plastic (mostly plastic bottles and discarded fishing nets recovered from the ocean) & waste fabric then recycles and regenerates them into a new nylon yarn that is exactly the same quality as virgin nylon.

This process also uses less water and creates less waste than traditional nylon production.   Waste is collected, cleaned and shredded and transformed into yarn, and then re-made into new fabric.

Traditional production methods for nylon use huge amounts of water and produce a hefty amount of nitrous oxide, which is 10 x more potent than carbon dioxide. What’s more, nylon used in regular swimwear is not biodegradable, and it is estimated that up to 40% of man-made plastic waste in the oceans are nylon.

It's not only our fabric that is recycled, but also our elastic, thread and packaging.  Even our workshop uses solar energy, further reducing the carbon footprint of your finished garment… plus they look damn good too!
